HER Story

Karen has been in the advertising business since 1992 starting as a production assistant on commercial sets. She was relentless with networking, booking informational interviews by crashing award parties passing out hand made business cards with her parent’s home phone number on it. After a year of learning the production business, she moved to the agency side as an intern in the production department at Ingalls Quinn & Johnson. The rest is history. She has produced and managed some of the country’s largest brands and is always on time and under budget.

HER Mission

To be part of the creative process from the beginning. Execute ideas with modern thinking, on strategy, on time, under budget and most importantly, exceed Creative and Client expectations. To be the calm during the storm all while having fun.

Not all producers are created equal. Some producers do well focusing on one one spot at a time, but when you add multiple spots and multiple creative teams to a single production, things can get ugly for some producers. Not Karen. Karen tackles complex productions thoughtfully and gracefully. Her even keel, helps keep teams calm and focused when things get complicated. On one of our McDonald’s production shoots, we shot 5 spots in 5 production days, with three different creative teams. When we got to the final product, the client was happy, creative teams were happy and we had 5 solid spots. Karen is definitely the producer you want for solving things complex.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Karen for many years as a commercial director. She always created the type of positive work environment that brought out the best in people around her, both the production companies she hired and her own agency teams. The advertising industry can be a demanding one, and Karen has always pushed for the best work while respecting and supporting the creative process. I’ve had first-hand experience in seeing her mentor younger producers and creatives that have become greatly successful. In an ever changing advertising creative climate, Karen has also been a champion for new ways of working - always taking on evolving challenges with passion, imagination, and careful consideration.

‘Production with a smile.’ That’s not just something Karen says to add a dash of levity to our often grueling reality, she actually embodies that very spirit. Trust me, you want her on your side. Complex projects, impossible timelines, shifting and shrinking budgets; through it all ‘KG’ has the uncanny ability to find the right creative partners, gain the trust of her clients and internal teams and galvanize everyone to keep the focus on creating great, memorable work. On time. In budget. And of course, always with a smile.
